Patient Care

At Belmore, our goal is to provide our patients with dental excellence in a home from home setting. All patients can expect a personally tailored experience as we understand that each individual is unique and has specific needs.

The practice offers the latest in dental advances including complete smile makeovers using implants to replace missing teeth, and cosmetic treatments to perfect what teeth are still present. These include crowns, veneers, bridges, teeth whitening, invisible orthodontics and treatments for phobic patients.

Our aim is to provide you and your family with the highest quality treatment and dental care. Whether you are a patient requiring the best of cosmetic dentistry or a nervous patient who needs their confidence building, we are here to help. Whatever your needs, we are committed to providing an excellent service in a relaxed, personal and friendly environment. Our aim at Belmore Dental Studio is to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. One of the ways we can help is to offer patients dental sedation, excellent facilities and our friendly staff make us confident that you will only need one visit for your dental phobias and apprehensions towards dentistry to change. Most patients develop their dental phobia due to a previous 'bad experience' at the dentist. For those patients sedation is one of the best options to allow the dentist to carry out treatment.

We believe that everybody is entitled to a healthy mouth and beautiful smile. This is why we aim to help such patients to achieve these goals.

At Belmore Dental Studio it is necessary to take x-rays and radiographs of patients. The x-ray equipment used to take such radiographs has the potential to cause harm to those using the equipment if adequate safety precautions are not observed. Our x-ray equipment is digital which reduces harmful radiation and is tested and maintained on a regular basis by appropriately qualified persons to ensure no radiation leakage and safe working conditions for both patients and operators.

A radiation protection advisor is available, when we require advice on the implementation of the appropriate legislation. All equipment is subject to surveillance which includes correct functioning of warning lights and alarms. An equipment log is kept which includes a periodic check that safety checks are being carried out.

Cross Infection Control

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989, states that members of the Belmore Dental Studio have a duty to ensure all necessary steps are taken to prevent cross infection in order to protect our patients. Routine cross infection control procedures not only safe guard patients but also protect the dental team.

Every dental procedure results in contamination of the dental work environment. Limitation of contamination to designated areas within the surgery is the principle of zoning. This means identifying areas that may be contaminated during treatment and disinfecting these areas between patients. The principle of zoning is an effective and efficient means of controlling cross infection.
