Improve the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles and restore your facial volume and contours for a refreshed and natural look.

At Belmore Facial Aesthetics Clinic all of our injectable treatments are carried out by expert clinicians who have undergone extensive additional training, on top of a vast knowledge in assessing and treating facial anatomy.

As we age our body functions slow down and the skin loses its ability to make hyaluronic acid, resulting in a loss of natural elasticity and youthful volume, especially from the face and neck. Dermal fillers are an incredible treatment used to restore volume loss and improve definition in the face. Made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally already present in the body, dermal fillers act to boost the skin's natural hydration and restore volume, therefore filling deep lines and wrinkles, plumping and lifting the skin and delaying signs of aging.

At Belmore Facial Aesthetics Clinic, we can use dermal fillers to improve the appearance of:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Lips
  • Smokers' lines
  • Tear trough (under-eye) hollows
  • Marionette lines
  • Mid-face volume loss
  • Jowls
  • Uneven, undefined or sagging jawline
  • Bumps or defects in the nose

So, how do dermal fillers actually work?

All of the dermal fillers we use here at Belmore Facial Aesthetics Clinic are an injectable gel like material made up of hyaluronic acid, this is a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies and works to hydrate and lubricate from within. As time goes on our natural stores of hyaluronic acid decline due to multiple factors including age, environmental factors such as smoking and so on. As these stores decline, we start to lose volume from our faces as a result. Thankfully, using dermal fillers we can now regain this lost volume and get our youthful refreshed glow back.

What should I expect during my appointment?

  • Your clinician will start by assessing your facial structure, features and skin condition. They will ask for your areas of concern and listen carefully to what you hope to achieve from the treatment. They will also guide you on realistic expectations that can be achieved and make sure that you are comfortable with every step of the treatment.
  • The next step will be to cleanse and (if necessary) apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the area. Once the numbing cream has taken effect your clinician will then remove this, cleanse and disinfect thoroughly and mark the area for treatment with a removable pencil.
  • Depending on the area that Is being treated your clinician will use a needle, a cannula or both during your appointment. At Belmore Facial Clinic all of our injectors are highly skilled and have been trained to use only the safest methods so you can rest assured you are in very safe hands.
  • Your clinician will explain what you should be feeling at every stage, they will talk to you during your treatment and make sure you are comfortable. They will normally treat one side of the face at a time and you will be able to review in the mirror after the first side is complete.
  • Once the treatment is finished you will be able to review in full, your injector will show you your before photos and compare to how your skin is looking after your treatment. Dermal filler provides instant results so it is easy to compare your before and after photos and view the immediate improvements.
  • Your clinician will explain what to do and what to avoid in the 48 hours following your treatment and provide you with after care information on how to ensure your results remain beautiful and fresh for as long as possible.

Am I a suitable candidate for dermal fillers?

Those who are most likely to find dermal fillers beneficial include people looking to:

  • Reduce fine lines or fill deeper wrinkles
  • Add definition, hydration and/or fullness to the lips
  • Add definition, volume and contour areas of the face such as the cheeks
  • Boost the skin's vitality, add a healthy glow and improve over all skin texture by removing hollow areas

How long do dermal fillers last?

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical, non-permanent treatment and how long they last will depend both on the area being treated and the filler that is used. Your injector will let you know during your consultation what to expect in terms of results and longevity.

Whilst dermal fillers can achieve incredible natural looking results, they also have their limitations. They are not going to be suitable for instances of extreme skin laxity and drooping, they can certainly bring improvement in these situations however in some cases a traditional surgical face lift would be recommended to achieve the desired results.
