Your New Patient Experience

What to expect at your new patient consultation

Belmore Dental New Patient Consultation

At Belmore Dental we appreciate that choosing a dental care provider can be a big and difficult decision. Many of us have fears and anxiety associated with the dentist and as such need to make sure that we choose someone who understands our needs and is able to both meet and exceed these.

We would like to thank you for choosing our team to look after your dental care and as a new patient at our practice, let you know what to expect at your first visit.

Our welcoming reception team will greet you and take your details to check you in to our booking system. Prior to arriving for your appointment, we will send you some forms to fill in such as a confidential medical and dental history form, which will provide us with all the information we may need relevant to your dental treatment. If you are unable to fill these in before your visit, one of our team members will ask you to do this on the day of your first visit. We usually do not need access to your previous dental records, however, feel free to bring copies of any recent x-rays or treatment plans you may have. should we need additional information regarding past treatments we can contact your previous dental team on your behalf with your consent.

Once you are checked in to the practice our friendly treatment coordinator will come to meet you and begin your welcome visit before escorting you to meet your new dentist. During your welcome visit the treatment coordinator will ask you a number of questions to present your new dentist with a clear picture of what your dental concerns may be, whether you have any specific treatment deadlines and what your smile goals are. She may also discuss treatment options with you and take a series of photos for your clinical records. Once this is all complete, she will accompany you to meet your new dentist.

Our team of experts at Belmore Dental believe that getting to know you is the most important part of your first visit to our clinic. Therefore, unless there are any emergency treatments necessary, we confine the first visit to the consultation of your dental requirements and treatment expectations, a thorough examination and assessment of your mouth, along with any necessary x-rays. Our dental team will take the time to explain any findings and discuss your treatment options, along with their recommendations.

We want our clients to choose the treatment option which is best suited to their needs, wants and budget. This is why once you have completed your consultation with the dentist, our treatment coordinator will meet you once again to provide you with your personal treatment plan. She will go through each option in detail and make sure you leave with all questions answered. We have finance options available for all of our patients both in Northern Ireland and the Republic so if this is something that you would be interested in availing of then this can also be discussed with the treatment coordinator.

After we have completed your dental treatment, we will agree together how often your routine examination and hygienist appointments will be. To ensure your best dental health, this will be every six months for most patients. We can make your review appointment at your final treatment visit, or our fully integrated computer system will generate a recall which we can send to you by post, email or via text message.

During all your visits to Belmore Dental Implant Clinic your health, comfort and wellbeing are our primary concern. Please let us know of anything which might require particular attention or of any changes in your wellbeing during your visit. If any problems should arise, please inform any member of the Belmore Dental team so that we can resolve the matter.
