What Can We Test For?

We offer a range of essential blood tests to check your general health and screen for common conditions:

• Thyroid Function – This test checks your Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) to assess if you may be suffering from an under or over active thyroid. If you are experiencing any of the following: fatigue, weight gain, weight loss or increased anxiety this test could help you get to the bottom of your symptoms.
• Iron Levels – This test checks various markers in your blood to check your iron levels and diagnose deficiency or overload. Symptoms of low iron include fatigue, weakness and breathlessness.
• Diabetes (HbA1c) – This test measures your average blood glucose levels over the past 2-3 months to diagnose pre-diabetes and diabetes, or to monitor existing condition. Common symptoms that may lead you to take this test include extreme thirst, frequent urination, unexplained weight-loss, blurred vision, feeling very tired and slow healing wounds.
• Cortisol – This test assesses your cortisol levels, a stress hormone produced by the adrenal gland. Symptoms that may prompt you to try this test include weight gain, mood changes, fatigue, high blood pressure and skin issues like bruising.
• Inflammation Markers (CRP) – This test can detect underlying inflammation or infections. It is especially helpful for more ‘at risk’ patients who wish to undergo implant treatment. Symptoms of inflammation or infection include fatigue, fever, aching joints and persistent pain.
• Vitamin D – This test measures your vitamin D levels to check for deficiency. Symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency include fatigue, general aches & pains, muscle weakness and a sensation of pins and needles.
