Our aim at Belmore Dental Studio is to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. One of the ways we can help is to offer patients dental sedation, excellent facilities and our friendly staff make us confident that you will only need one visit for your dental phobias and apprehensions towards dentistry to change. Most patients develop their dental phobia due to a previous 'bad experience' at the dentist. For those patients sedation is one of the best options to allow the dentist to carry out treatment.

We believe that everybody is entitled to a healthy mouth and beautiful smile. This is why we aim to help such patients to achieve these goals. We offer RA sedation and IV sedation for the true dental phobic. Our clinicians are fully trained and have great experience in treating anxious patients.

What is Relative Analgesia?

This is a technique which has been used in dentistry for many years. It involves patient breathing a mixture of Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen through a small mask that fits over the nose. The mixture is carefully adjusted until the patient feels relaxed and comfortable. At no time does the patient fall asleep.

What is IV sedation?

When a drug, usually of the anti-anxiety variety, is administered into the blood system during dental treatment, this is referred to as Intravenous Conscious sedation. You remain conscious during IV sedation, you will also be able to understand and respond to requests from your dentist. However you may not remember much about what went on. IV sedation induces a state of deep relaxation.

We fully monitor our patient's blood pressure, blood oxygen and pulse rate through out the entire procedure. Patients having IV sedation are safely discharged into the care of their escort and must be monitored closely after their treatment. Patients having RA sedation make an immediate recovery after their treatment is finished.
